Lilac (Syringa) Hedging
This highly scented deciduous shrub produces an abundance of blooms in early spring, which are tradionally purple or white in colour. They thrive in neutral or slightly acidic soil, particularly soil which is enriched in peat. Can be used as a climing or stand alone plant, however a Lilac hedge is especially brilliant as a result of the highly scented flowers.
