The Austrian Pine Tree (Pinus nigra austriaca) is an evergreen tree with dense spreading branches and fast growing when young. The Austrian Pine has tufty, dark blackish-green needles, with dark grey-brown cones of up to 3 inches (8cm) long which are very attractive to wildlife. As an ideal windbreak, the Austrian Pine is a hardy plant that is tolerant of a variety of soil types and positions.
